Research New

CIMSS scientists conduct research covering all aspects of satellite meteorology. We use observations from space-, aircraft- and ground-based instruments to study the Earth’s atmosphere, oceans and land surface; develop algorithms and products that can be transitioned from research into operational forecast models; and help design and demonstrate the sensor capabilities of the future.

This research contributes to the global understanding of weather and atmospheric processes and improves the accuracy and timeliness of weather forecasts.
