Brand and Visual Identity
Policy
Required
All SSEC / CIMSS content, including project websites, apps, and other digital content must follow UW accessibility guidelines as required by Federal law by April 2027.
All SSEC / CIMSS digital content, including websites, must adhere to UW’s Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources policy.
Recommended
It is recommended that SSEC and CIMSS staff use the SSEC / CIMSS WordPress platform to host web content, including project websites. Using WordPress is easy, does not require any additional software or knowledge, and will ensure that your content follows our branding and visual identity guidelines. In addition, your content will be accessibility compliant and mobile friendly. Custom web applications can also be integrated with WordPress.
CIMSS non-WordPress sites
If you choose not to use the CIMSS WordPress platform, you will be responsible for adhering to UW accessibility standards and making all relevant changes to comply with accessibility guidelines and responding to accessibility requests.
Your web pages will also need to incorporate the following:
- CIMSS logo (see below)
- The University of Wisconsin-Madison logo (see below)
- 1 branding color (see below)
- Designated typography (font)
All CIMSS websites should also include a link back to the CIMSS home page (linking the CIMSS logo is the recommended minimum solution).
