TCS036 weakening.
TCS036 looks fairly good right now but it seems to be weakening a bit with time. It could be a diurnal signal, and we may see some strengthening again as we move into later hours over the West Pacific.
It has a fairly healthy outflow to the northeast, but not much in the way of a surface circulation according
to quickscat and ascat data. The models, however, don’t do a whole lot to develop this system, and there aren’t plans to fly into it. We’ll have to look elsewhere.
IR image and upper-level AMVs and divergence for TCS-036. Valid through 12Z on September 04, 2008. Although the outflow looks good the convection seems to be dying.
Quickscatt and ASCAT analysis of TCS-036. Not really a good low-level circulation associated with this system.
