Geology » VISITview lesson

The Geology VISITview session is scheduled for Thursday October 18th.

Interactive VISITview sessions will last 30 to 40 minutes long and be be recorded for future reference.

You need to download the geology VISITview files onto your computer to participate interactively in this lesson. You will be downloading a self-extracting (.exe) file, which are easiest to manage if you put them in a separate folder.  So start by creating a separate folder at a convenient location on your computer. After you download the file which will be called geologyVV.exe into that folder, you can extract the individual slides simply by by clicking on the executable file.

Once you've created a folder, click here to download the geology VISITview lesson.

After the geologyVV.exe is in your folder, click on it. This will open a new window;  you will want to replace any files that are in the folder if prompted. When the self-extracting zip file has expanded, you will have a folder full of files, including visit.bat and visitlocal.bat.
Prior to the teletraining you can use visitlocal.bat to view the slides and familiarize yourself with the training topic.

The teletraining starts at 5:15 CST on 18 October. You should "launch" your visitview lesson at that time by double-clicking the visit.bat icon.  Note that internet access is required during the session for the instructor to advance frames or to show annotations, etc.

Lines open for the teletraining starting at 5:15 CST on Thursday October 18. Please call 1-800-462-1257 to participate.
The lecture should start around 5:20 CST.
