Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC)
Part of the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Graduate School, SSEC is a research and development center with primary focus on geophysical research and technology to enhance understanding of the atmosphere of Earth, the other planets in our Solar System, and the cosmos.

Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS)
CIMSS is a Cooperative Institute formed through a Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). CIMSS scientists conduct research using passive remote sensing systems for meteorological and surface-based applications.

CIMSS GOES Sounder and Imager
CIMSS develops, tests, and moves algorithms into the operational component of NOAA. GOES sounder products help define parameters for cloud conditions, atmospheric motion and mass, and surface properties.
