Lesson 3

Climate Regulators

Climate is regulated by complex interactions among components of the Earth system. This lesson presents a review of two of these components; the worlds oceans and the atmospheric greenhouse effect before explaining how the energy balance of the Earth-atmosphere system is influenced when factors that affect climate are altered.

In this lesson you will learn:
1) A review of the Greenhouse Effect
2) The principal components of Radiative Forcing
3) How to interpret and understand an IPCC graphical display of Radiative Forcing

Time Requirement
This lesson should take around 1 hour.
