GOES-10 0.65 micrometer visible imagery (available at 5-10 minute intervals during the GOES-10 Science and Operations Test) shows the southeastward progression of an undular bore along the leading edge of an advancing cold front. Surface winds changed from southeasterly at 5-10 knots ahead of the bore to northwesterly at 10-30 knots as the feature passed through the extreme southern counties of Texas and adjacent parts of northern Mexico.

Several shallow gravity waves can also be seen propagating northeastward through the offshore stratocumulus clouds over the western Gulf of Mexico.
