Case Studies of Unusual Weather Events
Most years we create a case study of an unusual weather event for the workshop participants to investigate. As participants look at the satellite imagery and weather maps showing the development of the severe weather, they learn how to interpret the imagery as well as how to make and read weather maps. Below are links to recent case studies:
- 2006: Southern Wisconsin snowstorm (February 15-16, 2006)
- 2005: Stoughton, WI tornado (August 18, 2005)
- 2003: Oaklfield, WI tornado (July 18, 1996)
- 2001: WI derecho (June 11-12, 2001)
- 2000: WI heavy rains (May 31 - June 1, 2000)
