The CIMSS student workshop on Atmospheric, Earth & Space Sciences features an exciting five-day agenda in meteorology, astronomy, land remote sensing and geology. Participating students stay on campus in lakeside dorms and experience science education, research and technology through hands-on activities working directly with scientists, graduate students and professors. The 2010 workshop will be offered June 20th through 24th.

We cover a variety of science topics during each workshop, such as:
- Atmospheric Science: Weather satellites, map analysis, weather forecasting and global climate change. Includes field trips to a local TV Weather station and a nearby National Weather Service office.
- Earth Science: Plate tectonics, earthquakes, glaciology, and tsunamis; includes a field trip to Devils Lake State Park
- Remote Sensing of Earth and Other Planets: Monitoring of natural resources from earth orbiting satellites, digital image processing, and geographic information systems (GIS).
- Astronomy: View planetary atmospheres on a unique 3D sperical display; includes trips to UW-Planetarium, Space Place and the historical UW Washburn Observatory.
