Suggested AWIPS Color Enhancements for GOES Sounder Derived Product Imagery (DPI)

This page shows examples of suggested color enhancements (or "color tables") to supplement the default enhancements for the GOES Sounder Derived Product Imagery (DPI) available on AWIPS. The image examples below show the default AWIPS color enhancement (top) along with the suggested color enhancement (bottom), for Total Precipitable Water, Lifted Index, Skin Temperature, and Cloud Top Height. The individual red/green/blue (RGB) color breakpoints are then shown for each segment of the suggested image enhancements.

If you wish to modify your AWIPS to change the default Sounder DPI enhancements to these "CIMSS enhancements", follow these instructions.
