This loop of GOES-8 10.7 micron longwave InfraRed imagery covers the time period from 19:02 UTC on 21 January to 03:55 UTC on 22 January 1999, and includes part of the Rapid Scan Operations (RSO) imagery at 5-10 minute intervals.

During this period, Arkansas experienced its largest tornado outbreak ever recorded during the month of January. Preliminary locations of tornados (solid squares) and hail exceeding 2 inches in diameter (open circles) are also plotted on the images.
