Hold any mouse button down as you move the cursor across the large GOES-8 3.9 micron shortwave IR image; the smaller inset window shows the corresponding GOES-8 visible image. In the 3.9 micron IR image, wet ground appears as a swath of cooler brightness temperatures (lighter gray enhancement); the visible image shows that it is generally clear (with some isolated cumulus clouds) over much of this wet ground.
