10 August 2000 | GOES-11 Visible/IR Image Fader

Hold the left mouse button down as you drag the slider above the image (or use the arrow buttons) to fade between the GOES-11 visible channel and the corresponding GOES-11 10.7 micrometer InfraRed (IR) image at 17:03 UTC on 10 August 2000. To zoom, click on the "Zoom" button, and then click the "hand" cursor on the image where you want to center the zoom.

Note the exposed low-level circulation on the visible image; the IR image shows the cold cloud tops (-50 to -60 C, orange to red enhancement) associated with small clusters of convection that developed around the periphery of the tight circulation.
