This loop of GOES-8 visible channel imagery shows the development of convection across southern Alberta on 14 July 2000. The Pine Lake (east of Red Deer, station identifier CYQF) tornado occured from 00:45 to 01:15 UTC on 15 July (6:45 to 7:15 PM MDT on 14 July).
Note the haziness south and southwest of Red Deer after the storm passes to the east -- this is blowing dust in the rear flank downdraft region of the storm.
