GOES-11 was launched on 03 May 2000, and is in the process of being checked out by teams from NASA and NOAA. These examples show the first visible channel image from the GOES-11 Sounder at 17:31 UTC on 22 May. The first GOES-11 Imager visible images are available in the GOES Gallery entry 17 May 2000 | First GOES-11 Imager Visible Channel Images. The sounder visible channels have not been normalized. All data are shown in their respective satellite projections.
