Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (S-NPP) and NOAA-20 Sensor Data Record (SDR) Software Version 3.1 Release with Patches 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 29 January 2019 New SDR packages supporting the calibration and geolocation of the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS), Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS), and the Cross-track Infrared Sounder (CrIS) instruments onboard the JPSS Suomi-NPP and NOAA-20 Satellites. This version includes a Patch that corrects bugs to improve the granule yields for all instruments from RDR inputs (Version 3.1.1) and a Patch to fix a problem with incomplete download of S-NPP and NOAA-20 VIIRS SDR Look-Up-Tables (LUTs). The Patches can either be included as part of a new installation, or applied to an existing CSPP Version 3.1 installation. Follow the instructions in the CSPP SDR Version 3.1.2 Installation Guide. Please note: The CSPP SDR Version 3.1.2 Patch is not inclusive; users need to install the Version 3.1.1 Patch followed by the Version 3.1.2 Patch separately. Instructions for installing Version 3.1.1 Patch followed by the Version 3.1.2 Patch can be found in the CSPP Version 3.1.2 Installation Guide. What is new in CSPP SDR Version 3.1.2:

What is new in CSPP SDR Version 3.1:
This release replaces existing installations of CSPP SDR (it is not an update). System requirements for CSPP SDR Version 3.1 have not changed from the Version 3.0 releases:
The CSPP SDR software package is based on the Algorithm Development Library (ADL) software developed by Raytheon for the JPSS Project. ADL allows the operational processing algorithms for Suomi-NPP to run without modification in a Linux environment. SSEC has packaged the ADL versions of the Suomi-NPP and NOAA-20 algorithms so they can run from the Linux command line in real-time direct broadcast mode, but we have not changed the underlying processing software, algorithms, or data formats. The output files from the CSPP SDR processing software are identical in naming, format, and structure to the corresponding files from NOAA/NESDIS. The native format for the SDR products is HDF5, and descriptions of the S-NPP/NOAA-20 file formats are available here (see the Common Data Format Control Books).
Software, documentation and test data for this CSPP SDR Version 3.1 release are available for download following the link below.
