1) Current Schedule

·        19 Nov                  ER-2 ferry flight from DFRC to Kelly AFB, San Antonio, TX

·        20 Nov                  S-HIS integration on ER-2

·        21 Nov                  Instrument Integration flight at Kelly

·        22 Nov - 10 Dec   Science flights

·        10 Dec                 Instrument download

·        11 Dec                 ER-2 ferry flight back to DFRC

 

2) Instrumentation on ER-2

·        MAS - 50 channel vis/IR spectrometer; 50 m spatial resolution, 36 km swath

·        S-HIS - Scanning MWIR to LWIR interferometer (2 km res, 36 km swath)

·        NAST-I – Scanning MWIR to LWIR interferometer (2 km res, 40 km swath)

·        CPL – Nadir pointing 3 wavelength lidar with dual polarization at 1064 nm

·        RC-10 camera system - b/w and false color IR photo, 5 m res

·        VIS video camera system

 

3) Data Collection Parameters:

·        27 ER-2 flight hours available for Science (Menzel)

·        All flights coordinated with Terra or Aqua satellite overpass

·        Six flights of 4 to 5 hours each plus 2 ferry flights

·        Focus on daytime flights, but one to two nighttime missions possible

·        Overfly AERIbago during CART SGP flights

·        No International flights

 

4) Support

·        McIDAS Workstation for on-site real time weather support

·        Science Room with 15 Network drop lines for instrument teams
