The radius of high winds associated with Florence was rather large, and the tight pressure gradient between the tropical cyclone and a large area of high pressure over southeastern Canada <em><strong>(above)<\/strong><\/em> was creating strong winds that prompted the issuance of <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"NWS warnings\/advisories\" href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2006\/09\/060911_warnings2.jpg\"><strong>high surf and other marine warnings\/advisories<\/strong><\/a> along much of the US east coast.
