Analyses from the CIMSS <a href=\"http:\/\/tropic.ssec.wisc.edu\">Tropical Weather Website<\/a> show the storm <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2011\/08\/SAL_Katia_1200_30Aug2011.gif\">just south of a region of dry air from the Sahara<\/a>.  <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2011\/08\/Katia_1200UTC_wm7shr.GIF\">Shear analyses<\/a> at the site show that Katia is projected to move into a region of decreasing shear in the next 24 hours.  In addition, sea surface temperatures are warm.
