href=\"http:\/\/www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/dailywxmap\/index_20110312.html\">12 March 2011<\/a> <em>(above)<\/em><\/strong> showed 2 prominent warm water features which exhibited SST values in the middle to upper 70s F <em>(darker orange to red color enhancement):<\/em> the Gulf of Mexico <a title=\"Loop Current (Wikipedia)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Loop_Current\"><strong>Loop Current<\/strong><\/a>, and the axis of the <a title=\"Gulf Steam (Wikipedia)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gulf_Stream\"><strong>Gulf Stream<\/strong><\/a> moving northward off the East Coast of the US.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2011\/03\/MODIS_SST_20110312_1615_gulf_of_mexico.png\"><img
