These SUVI images were sourced from the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssec.wisc.edu\/data\/geo\/#\/animation?satellite=suvi-goes-18&amp;end_datetime=latest&amp;n_images=200&amp;coverage=sun&amp;channel=FE131\">SSEC Geostationary Satellite Imagery<\/a><\/strong> site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swpc.noaa.gov\">Space Weather Prediction Center<\/a><\/strong> classified this solar flare as M9.3 intensity <strong><em>(below)<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/06\/260603_swpc_M9.3_solar_flare.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/06\/260603_swpc_M9.3_solar_flare.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center bulletin<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Later on 03 June, a second solar flare was evident in GOES-19 <em>(GOES-East)<\/em> SUVI <strong><em>(below)<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video autoplay controls loop muted src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/06\/260603_goes19_suvi_solar_flare2.mp4\" playsinline><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">GOES-19 SUVI 131 Angstrom images, from 0238-0806 UTC on 03 June<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, a few hours later on 03 June a third solar flare directed a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) off the northeastern limb of the Sun, as viewed by the GOES-19 SUVI <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video aligncenter\"><video autoplay controls loop muted src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/06\/260603_goes19_suvi_solar_flare.mp4\" playsinline><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">GOES-19 SUVI 304 Angstrom images, from 0513-1200 UTC on 03 June<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a result of these three CMEs, a G3 Geomagnetic Storm Watch was issued <strong><em>(below)<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/06\/260603_swpc_G3_Storm_Watch.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/06\/260603_swpc_G3_Storm_Watch.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">G3 Geomagnetic Storm Watch issued by the Space Weather Prediction Center<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A moderate intensity solar flare was detected by the SUVI on GOES-18 (GOES-West), which peaked at 0136 UTC on 03 June 2026 (above).
