With the NGFS Fire Detection polygons removed, the narrow dark-colored burn scar of this wind-driven wildfire was more easily seen as it quickly expanded eastward (westerly winds gusted to <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/04\/260428_2159utc_goes18_geoColorRGB_ngfsFireDetections_Sparks_Fire_NM_G40mph.png\"><strong>40 mph<\/strong><\/a> east of the fire, and gusted to <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/04\/260428_2246utc_goes18_geoColorRGB_ngfsFireDetections_Sparks_Fire_NM_G31mph.png\"><strong>31 mph<\/strong><\/a> south-southeast of the fire).
