The combination of high snowfall rates (up to 3 inches per hour) and strong winds produced widespread blizzard conditions.<\/p>\n<p>A slightly closer view using 1-minute Mesoscale Domain Sector GOES-19 Mid-level Water Vapor images <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em> included overlays of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goes-r.gov\/spacesegment\/glm.html\"><strong>GLM<\/strong><\/a> Flash Extent Density and GLM Flash Points, along with plots of surface weather symbols and peak wind gusts (note that there was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ospo.noaa.gov\/data\/messages\/2026\/02\/MSG_20260223_1748.html\"><strong>brief outage<\/strong><\/a> of GOES-19 imagery on 23 February). Isolated inland GLM signatures suggested that some brief thundersnow may have occurred (<a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/02\/260223_0335utc_g19_wv_glm.png\"><strong>0335 UTC<\/strong><\/a> | <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/02\/260223_0529utc_g19_wv_glm.png\"><strong>0529 UTC<\/strong><\/a> | <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/02\/260223_1036utc_g19_wv_glm.png\"><strong>1036 UTC<\/strong><\/a> | <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/02\/260223_1057utc_g19_wv_glm.png\"><strong>1057 UTC<\/strong><\/a>) &#8212;
