A Special Weather Statement was issued at 0035 UTC (<a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/01\/260109_0035utc_g18_ir_glm_sps_NM.png\"><strong>image<\/strong><\/a> | <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/01\/260109_kabq_sps.text\"><strong>text<\/strong><\/a>) as this thunderstorm began to produce accumulating graupel &#8212; graupel (GR) was later reported at KABQ, beginning at 0104 UTC (<a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2026\/01\/260109_kabq_metar.text\"><strong>METARs<\/strong><\/a>).
