McIDAS images of <a title=\"GOES-11\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oso.noaa.gov\/goesstatus\/spacecraftStatusSummary.asp?spacecraft=11\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>GOES-11<\/strong><\/a> (GOES-West), <a title=\"GOES-15 Post Launch Science Test\" href=\"http:\/\/rammb.cira.colostate.edu\/projects\/goes-p\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>GOES-15<\/strong><\/a>, and <a title=\"GOES-13\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oso.noaa.gov\/goesstatus\/spacecraftStatusSummary.asp?spacecraft=13\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>GOES-13<\/strong><\/a> (GOES-East) 3.9 \u00c2\u00b5m shortwave IR channel data <em><strong>(above)<\/strong><\/em> showed the resulting fire &#8220;hot spots&#8221; <em>(black to yellow color enhancement)<\/em> during the 01:00 UTC to 04:00 UTC time period (6 pm to 9 pm local time). <\/p>\n<p>The plot below shows that the maximum 3.9 \u00c2\u00b5m shortwave IR pixel brightness temperatures were seen on the 01:15 UTC <em>(6:15 pm local time)<\/em> GOES-15 and GOES-13 images, and 30 minutes later at 01:45 UTC <em>(6:45 pm local time)<\/em> on the GOES-11 images.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2010\/09\/100910_g11_g15_g13_plot.001.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Plot of GOES-11, GOES-15, and GOES-13 3.9 \u00c2\u00b5m IR brightness temperatures\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2010\/09\/100910_g11_g15_g13_plot.001.jpg\" title=\"Plot of GOES-11, GOES-15, and GOES-13 3.9 \u00c2\u00b5m IR brightness temperatures\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Plot of GOES-11, GOES-15, and GOES-13 3.9 \u00c2\u00b5m IR brightness temperatures<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A comparison of the 1-km resolution NOAA-16 AVHRR 3.7 \u00c2\u00b5m and the 4-km resolution GOES-11 3.9 \u00c2\u00b5m shortwave IR images <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em> showed the fire hot spot <em>(black pixels)<\/em> around 02:00 UTC<em> (7:00 pm local time)<\/em>.
