Pulses of overshooting tops in addition to <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.ametsoc.org\/doi\/abs\/10.1175\/WAF-D-18-0040.1?journalCode=wefo\"><strong>Above-Anvil Cirrus Plumes<\/strong><\/a> were apparent with these thunderstorms.<\/p>\n<p>In the corresponding 1-minute GOES-19 \u201cClean\u201d Infrared Window (10.3 \u00b5m) images <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em>, the coldest cloud-top infrared brightness temperatures associated with some of the pulsing overshooting tops were in the -75 to -78\u00baC range.<\/p>\n<p><div style=\"width: 1290px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2025\/04\/G19_IR_NE_IA_SVR_15APR2025_loop_GOES-19_2025107_220028_2025108_021125.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2025\/04\/G19_IR_NE_IA_SVR_15APR2025_B13_2025108_000625_GOES-19_0001PANEL_FRAME00127.GIF\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">1-minute GOES-19 \u201cClean\u201d Infrared Window (10.3 \u00b5m) images with time-matched (+\/- 3 minutes) SPC Storm Reports plotted in white, from 2200 UTC on 17 April to 0211 UTC on 18 April [click to play animated GIF | <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2025\/04\/G19_IR_NE_IA_SVR_15APR2025_loop_GOES-19_2025107_220028_2025108_021125.mp4\"><strong>MP4<\/strong><\/a>]<\/p><\/div>In a toggle between GOES-19 Visible and Infrared images at 2322 UTC <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em>, there was a pronounced &#8220;warm trench&#8221; immediately downwind (east) of the cold overshooting top associated with the northernmost supercell thunderstorm.
