GOES-16 is now the back-up satellite for GOES-East and GOES-West, and will presently move to the storage position at 105<sup>o<\/sup>W. The animation below from the <a href=\"https:\/\/geosphere.ssec.wisc.edu\/#playing:true;coordinate:-1126166,3370580;zoom:3.8;coverage:radc;start_time:2025-04-07T14:31:17Z;timeframe:Start%20Time;\">CSPP Geosphere site<\/a> shows GOES-16 and then GOES-19 true-color imagery. There is a <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/04\/goeseast_abi_radc_true_color_night_202504071456_1506toggle.gif\">subtle color change that occurs between 1456 and 1506 UTC<\/a>; a very subtle change in <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/04\/goeseast_abi_radc_c01_202504071456_1506toggle.gif\">the brightness in the blue band<\/a> (Band 1 at 0.47 \u00b5m) is also present. (This color change is discernible in GeoColor at the CIRA SLIDER, as shown in <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/04\/cira-rammb-slider-goes-16_19-conus-geocolor-opacity-100-20250407145617sidebyside.png\">this side-by-side view from 1456 UTC<\/a> &#8212; GOES-16 on the left, GOES-19 on the right).
