GOES-1 through GOES-15 imagers did allow to sometimes see the moon off the Earth. Examples from <a href=\"http:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/goes\/misc\/vismoon.gif\">GOES-8<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/archives\/414\">GOES-12<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/archives\/2106\">GOES-13<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>H\/T<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.data.jma.go.jp\/mscweb\/en\/index.html\">JMA<\/a> for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.data.jma.go.jp\/mscweb\/en\/himawari89\/space_segment\/spsg_ahi.html\">AHI<\/a> data (via NESDIS\/STAR) and the UW\/SSEC Data Services. McIDAS-X was used for these image combinations. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssec.wisc.edu\/~tims\/\">T.
