A rare winter case of  northerly &#8220;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shamal_%28wind%29\" title=\"Shamal wind (Wikipedia)\" target=\"_blank\">shamal<\/a><\/strong>&#8221; winds (producing gusts of 35 mph) was creating the massive cloud of blowing dust and blowing sand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amato Evan captured some awesome Google Earth AVHRR images of a large dust storm that was affecting the Arabian Peninsula during the 01-04 February 2008 period.
