These thunderstorms produced a tornado in Kansas, hail up to 2.75 inches in diameter in Texas and damaging winds up to 74 mph in Oklahoma.<\/p>\n<p><div style=\"width: 1290px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2023\/09\/230919_goes16_infrared_spcStormReports_KS_OK_TX_anim.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2023\/09\/G16_IR_KS_TX_OK_SVR_19SEP2023_B13_2023262_233255_GOES-16_0001PANEL_FRAME00093.GIF\" width=\"1280\" height=\"1280\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">GOES-16 \u201cClean\u201d Infrared Window (10.3 \u00b5m) images, with time-matched SPC Storm Reports plotted in blue [click to play animated GIF | <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2023\/09\/230919_goes16_infrared_spcStormReports_KS_OK_TX_anim.mp4\"><strong>MP4<\/strong><\/a>]<\/p><\/div>5-minute CONUS Sector GOES-16 Visible images with overlays of the <a href=\"http:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/goes\/OCLOFactSheetPDFs\/ABIQuickGuide_BaselineDerivedStabilityIndices.pdf\"><strong>CAPE, Lifted Index<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/rammb2.cira.colostate.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/QuickGuide_TPW_20180306-1.pdf\"><strong>Total Precipitable Water<\/strong><\/a> derived products <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em> showed that these storms intensified as they moved into a corridor of instability and moisture.
