Trace amounts of ash fall were observed at False Pass from 0200-0430 UTC.<\/p>\n<p>GOES-18 True Color RGB images from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/geosphere.ssec.wisc.edu\/#playing:true;coordinate:-398351,750225;satellite:goeswest;num_frames:40;\"><strong>CSPP GeoSphere<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0site\u00a0<em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em> helped to highlight the ash-laden volcanic cloud (light shades of tan) moving east from the summit of Shishaldin.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2023\/09\/goeswest_abi_radf_true_color_night_s20230916013021_e20230916030021_f10.mp4\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2023\/09\/goeswest_abi_radf_true_color_night_20230916022021.png\" width=\"1024\" height=\"461\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">GOES-18 True Color RGB images [click to play MP4 animation]<\/p><\/div>\n<p>GOES-18 \u201cRed\u201d Visible (<a href=\"http:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/goes\/OCLOFactSheetPDFs\/ABIQuickGuide_Band02.pdf\"><strong>0.64 \u00b5m<\/strong><\/a>) images\u00a0<em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em> include plots of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goes-r.gov\/spacesegment\/glm.html\"><strong>GLM<\/strong><\/a> Group points &#8212; which revealed 2 brief periods of satellite-detected volcanic lightning activity near the summit of Shishaldin shortly after the eruption onset.
