Ample lunar illumination (the Full Moon occurs on 30 August) meant the Day Night Band yielded very sharp imagery, as shown above.  This data was downloaded at the <a href=\"https:\/\/bin.ssec.wisc.edu\/pub\/eosdb\/j01\/viirs\/2023_08_30_242_0704\/images\/\">CIMSS Direct Broadcast antenna<\/a> and processed with <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/cspp\/\">CSPP software<\/a>, yielding the georeferenced image above (more imagery from this overpass is available <a href=\"https:\/\/bin.ssec.wisc.edu\/pub\/eosdb\/j01\/viirs\/2023_08_30_242_0704\/images\/\">here<\/a>;  ATMS imagery from the pass is <a href=\"https:\/\/bin.ssec.wisc.edu\/pub\/eosdb\/j01\/atms\/2023_08_30_242_0704\/images\/\">here<\/a>; both image repositories will be purged in a week).  Idalia made landfall along the central Florida coast <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/archive\/2023\/al10\/al102023.update.08301145.shtml?\">at about 1145 UTC<\/a>, four+ hours after the imagery above was captured.
