Located at a latitude of 67.35N, this wildfire was only about 40 miles south of the Arctic coast.<\/p>\n<p><div style=\"width: 1930px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2023\/07\/230721_2300utc_goes18_NWT_pyroCb_cursor_sample.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2023\/07\/230721_2300utc_goes18_NWT_pyroCb_cursor_sample.png\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cursor sampling of GOES-18 imagery at 2300 UTC [click to enlarge]<\/p><\/div>The 2 pyroCb clouds began to form at <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2023\/07\/nwt_4p-20230721_234022.png\"><strong>2340 UTC<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2023\/07\/nwt_4p-20230722_001022.png\"><strong>0010 UTC<\/strong><\/a> &#8212; when pyrocumulus jumps were evident in the RGB and Visible images.
