The track path from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metoc.navy.mil\/jtwc\/jtwc.html\">Joint Typhoon Warning Center<\/a>, below, shows the 0900 UTC position just north of Ritidian Point on Guam. The image below, from MetopB, shows 12 \u00b5m brightness temperatures at 1205 UTC on 24 May 2023.  At this time, typhoon winds continued to affect the island although the center of the eye was <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2023\/05\/metopb_avhrr_band5_bt_20230524_120427_lcc_fit.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2023\/05\/metopb_avhrr_band5_bt_20230524_120427_lcc_fit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-52558\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">MetopB AVHRR imagery (Band 5, 12.0 \u00b5m) at 1205 UTC on 24 May 2023 (click to enlarge)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>NOAA-20 overflew the storm shortly after 0300 UTC on 24 May 2023, and the Day Night band imagery from that pass is shown below.
