The toggle above compares the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov\/socd\/mecb\/sar\/AKDEMO_products\/APL_winds\/wind_images2\/2023-05\/S1A_ESA_2023_05_05_04_39_49_0736576789_157.90W_20.62N_VV_C5_GFS025CDF_wind.png\">derived winds<\/a>  with GOES-18 Visible imagery (Band 2, 0.64 \u00b5m);  the visible data enhancement has been changed (that is, brightened) from the default range of 0 to 130 to just 0 to 5 for this post-sunset scene.  Winds approaching 30 knots (orange\/red in the enhancement used) are common in the bands of wind between the islands.
