The Great Lakes are largely ice-free (with the exception of a few bays in northern Green Bay, over northern Lake Superior, and over northern Lake Huron).  (<a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2023\/03\/npp_noaa20_noaa21_viirs_true_color_20230307_173454_to_184602_GreatLakesStepanim.gif\">Here<\/a> are two images from 7 March for comparison).  The CIMSS Direct Broadcast site includes imagery for each of the five Great Lakes (<a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2023\/04\/noaa20_viirs_true_color_20230412_184611_LakeErieLT-1024x776.jpg\">here&#8217;s Lake Erie, for example, from NOAA-20 at 1846 UTC on 11 April<\/a>, via <a href=\"https:\/\/ftp.ssec.wisc.edu\/pub\/eosdb\/j01\/viirs\/2023_04_12_102_1846\/images\/noaa20_viirs_true_color_20230412_184611_LakeErie.jpg\">this direct link<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/ftp.ssec.wisc.edu\/pub\/eosdb\/j01\/viirs\/2023_04_12_102_1846\/images\/\">this directory<\/a>, valid for about a week);  the animation below shows Suomi NPP, NOAA-20 and NOAA-21 images of the Great Lakes from the CIMSS Direct Broadcast website (<a href=\"https:\/\/ftp.ssec.wisc.edu\/pub\/eosdb\/\">link<\/a>) with 5 images between 1705 and 1911 UTC.
