The environment of the storm is favorable to strengthening:  the Band 8 imagery above shows little dry air near the storm center, and a toggle with the Band 10 (7.34 \u00b5m) infrared imagery at 1200 UTC similarly shows little dry air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2023\/02\/H9Band08_Band10-20230208_1200toggle.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"841\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2023\/02\/H9Band08_Band10-20230208_1200toggle.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50317\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Himawari-9 Upper and Lower level water vapor infrared imagery (Bands 8 and 10, 6.25 \u00b5m and 7.34 \u00b5m, respectively) at 1200 UTC on 8 February 2023 (Click to enlarge)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>MIMIC Total Precipitable Water fields (<a href=\"http:\/\/tropic.ssec.wisc.edu\/real-time\/mtpw2\/product.php?color_type=tpw_nrl_colors&amp;prod=ausf&amp;timespan=24hrs&amp;anim=html5\">from this site<\/a>) also show an atmosphere rich in moisture where Gabrielle is developing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2023\/02\/mimictpw_spac_24hending_1400UTC_8February2023.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"470\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2023\/02\/mimictpw_spac_24hending_1400UTC_8February2023.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50319\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">MIMIC Total Precipitable Water, 1500 UTC 7 February &#8211; 1400 UTC 8 February 2023 (click to enlarge)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Analyses from the <a href=\"https:\/\/tropic.ssec.wisc.edu\/\">CIMSS Tropical Website<\/a>, show an environment that supports development.  SSTs in the region are warm, shear values are low, low-level convergence and upper level divergence are all strong, as shown in the toggle below.
