confined to a strong but shallow low-level temperature inversion, according to plots of <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2022\/12\/221208_KGGW_RAOBS_DATA.TEXT\"><strong>rawinsonde data<\/strong><\/a> from Glasgow <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><div style=\"width: 1290px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2022\/12\/221208_KGGW_RAOBS.GIF\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2022\/12\/221208_KGGW_RAOBS.GIF\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Plots of lower-tropospheric rawinsonde data from Glasgow, Montana at 0000 UTC (yellow) and 1200 UTC (cyan) [click to enlarge]<\/p><\/div>Once this fog\/stratus plume began to move over Glasgow shortly after 1000 UTC, their <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2022\/12\/221208_KGGW_OBS.TEXT\"><strong>surface observations<\/strong><\/a> revealed frequent fluctuations in the surface visibility, along with periods of freezing fog and occasionally some light snow <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em>.
