GOES-16 True Color RGB and Nighttime Microphysics RGB images [click to play MP4 animation]<\/p><\/div>GOES-16 (GOES-East)<\/em> True Color RGB and Nighttime Microphysics<\/strong><\/a> RGB images from the CSPP GeoSphere<\/strong><\/a> site (above)<\/strong><\/em> showed an arc of blowing dust (along with multiple wildfire smoke plumes) moving northward across northern Argentina — behind a cold front<\/strong><\/a> — on 15 August 2022.<\/p>\n

Embedded within the broad arc of blowing dust were dense plumes originating from salt flats along the northern edge of Mar Chiquita Lagoon<\/strong><\/a> — a closer view of those plumes is shown below.<\/p>\n

GOES-16 True Color RGB images [click to play MP4 animation]<\/p><\/div>GOES-16 “Red” Visible (0.64 \u00b5m<\/strong><\/a>) images (below)<\/strong><\/em> include plots of hourly surface reports — and as the cold front moved northward, surface report data (SACO<\/strong><\/a> | SANT<\/strong><\/a> | SARC<\/strong><\/a> | SARF<\/strong><\/a> | SASA<\/strong><\/a> | SASJ<\/strong><\/a>) revealed southerly wind gusts as high as 34 knots and visibility restrictions as low as 3 miles (due to blowing dust) along\/behind the front.<\/p>\n
