The GOES-16 animation above shows the weather system responsible for the weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NOAA-20 overflew the west coast shortly after 1000 UTC (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssec.wisc.edu\/datacenter\/polar_orbit_tracks\/data\/JPSS-1\/2022\/2022_04_11_101\/NA.gif\">map of the orbit<\/a>, from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssec.wisc.edu\/datacenter\/polar_orbit_tracks\/#satellite:NOAA20;region:North%20America;\">this website<\/a>), and  NUCAPS profiles derived from the CrIS and ATMS instruments on board helped define the cold airmass just offshore. The toggle below shows gridded 850- and 700-mb temperatures from the NOAA-20 overpass.
