Near-Infrared \u201cCloud Particle Size\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/goes\/OCLOFactSheetPDFs\/ABIQuickGuide_Band06.pdf\"><strong>2.24 \u00b5m<\/strong><\/a>), Shortwave Infrared (<a href=\"http:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/goes\/OCLOFactSheetPDFs\/ABIQuickGuide_Band07.pdf\"><strong>3.9 \u00b5m<\/strong><\/a>), Low-level (<a href=\"http:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/goes\/OCLOFactSheetPDFs\/ABIQuickGuide_Band10.pdf\"><strong>7.3 \u00b5m<\/strong><\/a>). Mid-level (<a href=\"http:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/goes\/OCLOFactSheetPDFs\/ABIQuickGuide_Band09.pdf\"><strong>6.9 \u00b5m<\/strong><\/a>) and Upper-level (<a href=\"http:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/goes\/OCLOFactSheetPDFs\/ABIQuickGuide_Band08.pdf\"><strong>6.2 \u00b5m<\/strong><\/a>) Water Vapor images <em><strong>(above)<\/strong><\/em> showed signatures of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/planetarydefense\/dart\"><strong>DART Mission<\/strong><\/a> from Vandenberg Space Force Base in southern California on 24 November 2021. Shortly after the 0620 UTC launch, a warm thermal signature of the SpaceX <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacex.com\/vehicles\/falcon-9\/https:\/\/www.spacex.com\/vehicles\/falcon-9\/\"><strong>Falcon 9<\/strong><\/a> booster appeared in all 6 of these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goes-r.gov\/spacesegment\/abi.html#:~:text=ABI%20is%20a%20multi%2Dchannel,instrument%20has%20multiple%20scan%20modes.\"><strong>ABI<\/strong><\/a> spectral bands. Note that there were two 0621 UTC images; the 06:21:17 image was from the GOES-17 CONUS Sector &#8212; which, because it was scanning a much larger area, didn&#8217;t actually scan the rocket plume until around 06:21:57 UTC (the GOES-17 Mesoscale Sector 1 was scanning the rocket plume about 2 seconds earlier, at 06:21:55 UTC).<\/p>\n<p>The corresponding GOES-17 Visible (spectral bands 1 and 2) and Near-Infrared (spectral bands 3-6) images are shown below.
