Since this current eruptive period began on <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/archives\/42487\"><strong>19 September<\/strong><\/a>, intermittent periods of volcanic clouds with an elevated ash content have been observed \u2014 and on this particular day, the darker tan to light brown appearance was an indication that higher ash concentrations were likely.<\/p>\n<p>The corresponding GOES-16 <a href=\"http:\/\/rammb.cira.colostate.edu\/training\/visit\/quick_guides\/GOES_Ash_RGB.pdf\"><strong>Ash RGB<\/strong><\/a> images <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em> extended an hour further, past sunset.
