(Wanda had transitioned to a Subtropical Storm on <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/archives\/43058\">31 October<\/a>).  Convection developed near the storm center and wrapped about halfway around the center.  Dry air is also affecting this storm.  A 24-hour animation of MIMIC Total Precipitable Water (from <a href=\"http:\/\/tropic.ssec.wisc.edu\/real-time\/mtpw2\/product.php?color_type=tpw_nrl_colors&amp;prod=global2&amp;timespan=24hrs&amp;anim=html5\">this site<\/a>), below, shows an absence of deep moisture, with the driest air to the west and south.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/11\/mimictpw_NorthAtlantic_18z_01Nov_10_17z02Nov_2021.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"470\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/11\/mimictpw_NorthAtlantic_18z_01Nov_10_17z02Nov_2021.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-43070\" \/><\/a><figcaption>MIMIC Total Precipitable Water, 18z 01 Nov &#8211; 17z 02 Nov 2021 (Click to enlarge)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>GOES Imagery also shows dry air near Wanda.  Both the low-level water vapor (Band 10, 7.34 \u00b5m) and the level 2 Total Precipitable Water product (a clear-sky only product) show dry air signatures: for the <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/11\/G16FDWVBand10-20211102_180020.png\">water vapor imagery<\/a>, orange and yellow enhancements; for the <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/11\/G16FD_TPW-20211102_180020.png\">total precipitable water<\/a>, yellow and green enhancements signifying values around 1.3&#8243;.
