The maximum 3.9 \u00b5m brightness temperature sensed was 138.7\u00baC \u2014 which is the saturation temperature for those <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goes-r.gov\/spacesegment\/abi.html\"><strong>ABI<\/strong><\/a> detectors. The fire prompted evacuation orders in the Topanga, California area.<\/p>\n<p>A time-matched comparison of Shortwave Infrared images from Suomi NPP VIIRS (3.74 \u00b5m) and GOES-17 ABI (3.9 \u00b5m) at 0918 UTC or 2:18 am PDT is shown below (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssec.wisc.edu\/datacenter\/polar_orbit_tracks\/data\/NPP\/2021\/2021_05_16_136\/NA.gif\"><strong>overpass times<\/strong><\/a> of the Suomi NPP satellite).
