GOES-16 Dust RGB images [click to play animation | MP4<\/strong><\/a>]<\/p><\/div>1-minute\u00a0Mesoscale Domain Sector<\/strong><\/a> GOES-16 (GOES-East)<\/em>\u00a0Dust RGB<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0images\u00a0(above)<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0displayed signatures of blowing dust\u00a0(brighter shades of pink)<\/em> moving southward across eastern Colorado and over the Oklahoma\/Texas Panhandle region on 23 December 2020. The dust source region appeared to be eastern Colorado, where wind gusts in excess of 60 knots were observed during the morning hours.<\/p>\n

GOES-16 True Color RGB images created using\u00a0Geo2Grid<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(below)<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>showed the lighter tan colored signature of these areas of blowing dust.<\/p>\n
