Deep convection began to develop across far southern Florida around 02 UTC on 09 November, just north of Eta&#8217;s broad circulation center &#8212; and the tropical storm made landfall in the Florida Keys at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/archive\/2020\/al29\/al292020.update.11090410.shtml?\"><strong>0400 UTC<\/strong><\/a>. The strongest <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2020\/11\/201109_kmfl_pns_winds.text\"><strong>wind gusts<\/strong><\/a> were found to the north\/northeast of the storm.<\/p>\n<p><div style=\"width: 651px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2020\/11\/201108_seaSurfaceTemperature_oceanHeatContent_TS_Eta_anim.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2020\/11\/201108_seaSurfaceTemperature_oceanHeatContent_TS_Eta_anim.gif\" alt=\"Sea Surface Temperature and Ocean Heat Content [click to enlarge]\" width=\"641\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sea Surface Temperature and Ocean Heat Content [click to enlarge]<\/p><\/div>Maps of Sea Surface Temperature and Ocean Heat Content from the <a href=\"http:\/\/tropic.ssec.wisc.edu\"><strong>CIMSS Tropical Cyclones<\/strong><\/a> site <em><strong>(above)<\/strong><\/em> indicated that Eta was moving over warm water (SST around 28\u00baC, and a pocket of modest OHC) north of Cuba.
