(DB imagery from this pass is also available for a short time at the <a href=\"ftp:\/\/ftp.ssec.wisc.edu\/pub\/eosdb\/npp\/viirs\/\">CIMSS DB ftp site<\/a>)  These ACSPO (Advanced Clear-Sky Processor for Ocean) SST fields are available to NWS offices via LDM fields.  The default color bar in AWIPS has been changed so that only temperatures between 45\u00ba F and 70\u00ba F are shown<\/p>\n<p>Lake Temperatures in the imagery above range, for <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/09\/SuperiorSSTs-20200923_073527.png\">Lake Superior<\/a> from 47.5\u00ba (east of Minnesota) to 66\u00ba (just off southwest Upper Michigan); for <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/09\/MichiganSSTs-20200923_073527.png\">Lake Michigan<\/a> from 57\u00ba (east of Sheboygan WI) to 67\u00ba (mid-lake, east of Chicago); for <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/09\/HuronSSTs-20200923_073527.png\">Lake Huron<\/a> from 55\u00ba (in northwestern Georgian Bay and also northwestern Lake Huron) to 65\u00ba (far southern Lake Huron); for <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/09\/ErieOntarioSSTs-20200923_073527.png\">Lake Erie<\/a> from 63\u00ba (western Lake Erie) to 69\u00ba (central Lake Erie);  for <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/09\/ErieOntarioSSTs-20200923_073527.png\">Lake Ontario<\/a> from 62\u00ba (western Lake Ontario) to 67\u00ba (eastern Lake Ontario).  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/09\/LakeSuperiorACSPO-20200902_185011.png\">This view of the Great Lakes from early in September<\/a> (also from the CIMSS DB site, processed with <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/cspp\/\">CSPP<\/a>), shows &#8212; with a color bar that ranges from 41\u00baF to 86\u00baF &#8212; much warmer water, especially in Lake Superior where the coolest mid-lake temperatures were in the mid-50s.
