\u00b5m<\/strong><\/a>) images<em><strong>\u00a0(above)\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>showed the formation of a pyrocumulonimbus (pyroCb) cloud over the <a href=\"https:\/\/inciweb.nwcg.gov\/incident\/7136\/\"><strong>Hopkins Fire<\/strong><\/a> in Northern California on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/dailywxmap\/index_20200908.html\"><strong>08 September 2020<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The vertical extent of the pyroCb cloud tower was even more apparent when viewed in Visible imagery from GOES-16 <em>(GOES-East),<\/em> displayed in the top left panel of the animation below.<\/p>\n<p><div style=\"width: 651px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a class=\"thumbnail\" href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2020\/09\/200908_goes16_visible_g17_shortwaveInfrared_fireTemperatureRGB_glmFlashExtentDensity_infraredWindow_CA_pyroCb_anim.gif\"><img in the day and farther to the east, 1-minute GOES-17 imagery<em><strong> (below)<\/strong><\/em> showed the development of another pyroCb cloud over the <a href=\"https:\/\/inciweb.nwcg.gov\/incident\/6997\/\"><strong>North\u00a0 Complex<\/strong><\/a>.
