href=\"http:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/goes\/OCLOFactSheetPDFs\/ABIQuickGuide_Band02.pdf\"><strong>0.64\u00a0<em>\u00b5m<\/em><\/strong><\/a>) images\u00a0<em><strong>(above) <\/strong><\/em>revealed low-level vortices that were pivoting around the analyzed center of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/archive\/2020\/CRISTOBAL.shtml?\"><strong>Tropical Storm Cristobal<\/strong><\/a> as it approached the coast of Louisiana on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/dailywxmap\/index_20200607.html\"><strong>07 June 2020<\/strong><\/a>, making landfall at 2200 UTC. <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/images\/2020\/06\/200607_winds.text\"><strong>Wind gusts<\/strong><\/a> were as high as 57 mph in Louisiana and 64 mph in Mississippi.<\/p>\n<p>GOES-16 Visible images with overlays of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goes-r.gov\/spacesegment\/glm.html\"><strong>GLM<\/strong><\/a> Flash Extent Density <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em> indicated that there was very little satellite-detected lightning associated with Cristobal.<\/p>\n<p><div style=\"width: 653px\" class=\"wp-caption <strong><em>(below)<\/em><\/strong> showed numerous cloud-top infrared brightness temperatures as cold as -70 to -77\u00baC <em>(darker shades of red)<\/em> within some of the convective was being transported northward across the Gulf of Mexico by Cristobal &#8212; the Blended Total Precipitable Water (TPW) and Percent of Normal TPW product<em><strong> (below)<\/strong><\/em> portrayed a large area with TPW values in the 2.5-3.0 inch range, which represented departures of 175-200% of normal.
