Visible images from 21 June are displayed above. According to NOAA: &#8220;With the established performance of NOAA\u2019s new geostationary satellites, GOES-16 (as GOES-East) and GOES-17 (as GOES-West), and a healthy GOES-14 in reserve, NOAA can provide GOES-13 to the Air Force for their weather forecasting needs. After a check of the GOES-13 instruments, NOAA will operate the satellite on behalf of the Air Force during its remaining life span.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A 5.5-hour animation of all five spectral bands of the GOES-13 <a href=\"https:\/\/noaasis.noaa.gov\/NOAASIS\/ml\/imager.html\"><strong>Imager<\/strong><\/a> is shown below.<\/p>\n<p><div style=\"width: 653px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/goes\/rt\/jimn\/testing\/GOES13_6PL_2019173_121500_234500.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/goes\/rt\/jimn\/testing\/GOES13_6PL_2019173_121500_234500.gif\" alt=\"Images from all 5 spectral bands of the GOES-13 Imager [click to enlarge]\" width=\"643\" height=\"429\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">All 5 spectral bands of the GOES-13 Imager [click to enlarge | <a href=\"http:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/goes\/rt\/jimn\/testing\/GOES13_6PL_2019173_121500_234500.mp4\"><strong>MP4<\/strong><\/a>]<\/p><\/div>Water Vapor images from GOES-17<em> (GOES-West),<\/em> GOES-15, GOES-16 <em>(GOES-East)<\/em>\u00a0and GOES-13 <em><strong>(below)<\/strong><\/em> &#8212; all centered at Glasgow, Montana &#8212; showed the development of an <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2019\/06\/190621_500_height_anomaly_anim.gif\"><strong>anomalously-deep<\/strong><\/a> (for 21 June) mid-tropospheric cutoff low over eastern Montana.
